Brampton Team Page

Welcome to Brampton, Cumbria and our In-Home Care Team

Our private care team in Brampton provides a friendly, experienced and reliable service to clients living in the town and its surrounding villages and hamlets.

The Brampton care team consists of trained local staff who know the people of Brampton and the area well; an important asset when caring for the elderly in rural areas. The team have years of experience between them, with many of them gaining valuable skills from other districts we serve, like Alston and Keswick.

Assisted Living Supervisor Eileen Cook, our Brampton senior carer, has worked within the Penrith team for over 5 years before moving north in 2021 and joining the Brampton team. As well as the in-home nursing role she is on-call to make sure clients get the reassurance and help they need when they need it. Eileen knows all our Brampton clients well. She says, "I love working in Brampton in such a close-knit community. I know all our clients well but so do the health professionals we work with and that means our clients receive the best care”.

Care Agency Senior Carer Abby Henderson has been a senior in the Brampton team since 2019 and joined our team after experience caring for her own elderly family members. She’s knowledgeable about all of the Brampton clients but also naturally caring and compassionate. Abby is always there for clients and their families outside of office hours providing advice or helping to organise extra care or facilitating a hospital discharge. She's also experienced at working alongside the district nursing team and supporting people with healthcare tasks at home.

In-Home Nursing AssistantMichelle is our newest team member but has many years of care experience under her belt working in care homes and with Cumbria Cerebral Palsy. She has acquired a number of qualifications in that time and her experience and skills are a valuable asset to the Brampton team. She says, "I love working in a smaller community with people that have lived here for generations. Being able to support people to stay living in their own homes is so rewarding especially when sometimes they have even been born in that home".

A strong community working together

In the centre of the town is the octagonal Moot Hall which houses the Tourist Information Centre. Not far from the centre of town is the Community Centre, a wonderful reflection of the people of this charming, friendly town. It hosts many activities particularly suited to our clients such as an arts & crafts group, knit & natter, a poet's club, chair yoga, a lunch club and many other social groups and events.

The town has lots of places to relax with a cuppa and something to eat, like the ‘Off The Wall’ cafe where you can often find exhibitions by local artists. On the edge of town is Murray Park and a short drive away, are Talkin Tarn, a country park ideal for a quiet stroll, and Gelt Woods, another delightful walk and a good place for spotting birds.
