Carlisle Team Page

Welcome to Carlisle and our In-Home Nursing Care Team

Our private care team in Carlisle provides an experienced and reliable service to clients living in the urban areas of the city and its outlying villages and hamlets. They provide care as far east as Brampton, Dalton to the West, and meet the Penrith team border to the south at High Hesket.

The Carlisle in-home care team consists of trained local staff who know the people and the area well. They have years of experience between them, with many of them working across our districts in other more difficult-to-cover regions like Keswick and Alston.

Eileen Cook, our Carlisle senior carer, has a wealth of experience. She worked for many years in the Penrith private care team before moving north and joining the Carlisle team. With family connections in Appleby and beyond she has experience working within most of the districts where we provide private care. Eileen knows all the clients in the Carlisle district. She gives them the advice and reassurance needed when contacted out-of-hours. She’s reliable, hard-working, and loved by all her teammates and clients.

Abby Henderson started out in our Penrith team after gaining valuable experience caring for her own grandfather. She soon achieved her qualifications in health and social care, receiving her diploma in 2018. She now brings that knowledge and experience to the Carlisle Team. Abby is a dedicated carer who puts the needs of our clients first. She’s an expert when on-call as she knows all the clients individually enabling her to provide the support and care they need.

The newest addition to the senior team is Michelle. She’s recently joined the team after years of care experience working in care homes and for Cumbria Cerebral Palsy. She has gained numerous qualifications in that time including diplomas in end-of-life care, moving & handling, medication, safe handling of food, and many more. Michelle’s many years of care experience across various care settings makes her a valuable addition to the Carlisle team.

Carlisle has a strong sense of community

The two thousand-year-old city of Carlisle, just eight miles south of the Scottish border, is the hub for Eden Country Care’s most northern outpost. It’s a welcoming and intimate historic city. Much like the more rural areas of Cumbria, Carlisle has a strong sense of community where people will go out of their way to help.

Carlisle castle

Visitors to Carlisle can explore the castle and its ancient chambers, stairways and dungeons. Tullie House Museum has many interesting art exhibitions and collections you can view before enjoying a walk through the ancient city and savouring tea and scones at one of the many lovely cafes the city has to offer.

There are many green spaces in Carlisle where you can enjoy walking along the river or find some peace and quiet away from the city centre. Bitts Park, near the city centre, is separated into distinct spaces including Victorian Park, The Hollow, and the Garden of Memories. Other parks include Upperby Park and Keenan Park. The city has easy access to more scenic countryside walks such as Talkin Tarn near Brampton which is a short leisurely walk around the Tarn where you can enjoy a hot drink in the Boat House Tea Rooms.
